A+T wins W3 Award for “Stop Bullying Now!”

Alexander & Tom, Inc. (A+T), a Baltimore, MD, interactive agency, has received a Silver 2010 W3 Award from the International Academy of Visual Arts, for work on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' “Stop Bullying Now!” website.  “Stop Bullying Now” informs parents, educators and children about the effects of bullying, while providing information on how to prevent bullying and find resolutions. The site was created in response to escalating incidents of, and effects of bullying and cyber-bullying among preteens nationwide.

The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the web and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind award winning sites, videos and marketing programs.  The W3 is sanctioned and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms.

A+T partnered with Widmeyer Communications, a national public relations agency, to create the new multimedia website presence for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to promote their “Stop Bullying Now!” campaign.  The website provides videos, quizzes, games and classroom exercises that teachers can use for classroom instruction.  The website also contains a series of animated videos about the lives of a typical group of students.  All of the videos include closed-captioning and complete versions of webisode scripts, to enable children with hearing disabilities to experience the videos and their messages.
