Here’s what you need to bring to the table:
- Great design skills.
- Attention to detail and efficiency.
- A passion for new media and motion graphics is a must.
- Fluency in Photoshop, Flash, and After Effects (so fluent you can do it in your sleep).
- Proficiency in Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Director, QuickTime, PowerPoint, DVD Studio Pro, Sorenson Squeeze, Fireworks, SoundForge, and Camtasia. Basically, there’s no digital program you haven’t touched – from web, to sound, to video.
- HTML knowledge is required.
- Action scripting and understanding of database driven Flash is a plus.
- In our perfect world, you have the blend of technical and design skills – right and left-brain!
Above all, your design skills will win us over. If you can design we can find others that will build. But it’s not all about pretty pictures. You don’t just design to design. There’s function to your form. You’ll need to understand the client’s goals and communicate them to the right audience (and the audience is seldom just like you). You’ll take direction from a Senior Creative Guru and a Technical Genius so the teamwork thing is very important.
Alexander + Tom is an award winning digital agency. We’re not a start-up. We’ve been doing digital marketing communications since 1995 and we’re still around because we’re pretty good at it. We develop integrated and new media marketing campaigns – web, email, video, and CD-ROM – often tied into print and broadcast advertising. We use the web the way it should be used. We have the big brand national and regional clients that you recognize and each year we take home the awards that look good on your shelf.
We’ve got a strong team of hard workers. If you have trouble with multi-tasking and challenging deadlines, you’ll have a tough time here. This is a place for solution-oriented, go-getters who are just as passionate about the work as we are.
We’d go anywhere to find that right person. If you’re local that’s a big plus. If you’ve worked at other interactive agencies then you’ll probably get first nod. If you’re a newbie with primo skills then we’ll consider you, but you better be a superstar!
