ParkPoints
Want to find something to do outside? The ParkPoints app is a park activities locator that enables users to find biking and hiking trails, campgrounds, fishing and boating venues at State and National Parks in the Chesapeake Bay area. Interactive map tools allow users to quickly and easily filter results by their areas of choice and their activities of choice. Visitors to the Chesapeake Bay area will be able to pinpoint park services, get turn-by-turn driving directions and learn more about park facilities and hours of operation.
The app utilizes Google Maps, so a user can geo-locate (GPS) for driving directions from their current location to any of the area’s parks, trails, reserves or boat ramps.

Democracy Video Challenge
The Democracy Video Challenge (DVC) app enables users, around the world, to follow the DVC’s online video challenge and the organization surrounding it. This worldwide video challenge has received entries from over 1,600 film-makers in 90 countries – including China, Iraq and Iran. Previous winners are portrayed through their winning videos, video-biographies and written biographies.
This app provides an easy-to-use interface to view hundreds of contest videos via an integrated YouTube feed. It features an interactive map that shows the location of each of the 1600 films/filmmakers and highlights the winners. Social media tools are also included to allow users active participation in the Democracy Video Challenge community through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Important Challenge information, such as entry rules, judging protocols, contest deadlines and prizes are also included in the app.
Chesapeake BayWatch
The Chesapeake BayWatch app provides real-time buoy information from NOAA buoys in the Chesapeake Bay. The app helps boaters and fishermen view current conditions of a wide variety of water, weather, and wind conditions at specific locations on the Bay. The app also uses the Google Maps API to plot the exact location of the buoys and provide map and satelite views of the areas.
The app provides current conditions on: air temperature, wind speed, wind direction, water temperature, water salinity, turbidity, and wave height at specific locations throughout the Chesapeake Bay and its major tributaries.
