The U.S. Department of State turned to
Alexander + Tom in order to expand the global discussion on democracy. The result was to design and
develop a worldwide online video contest, "The Democracy Video Challenge." The task was to help spread
the message about the Democracy Video Challenge worldwide, using Web 2.0 marketing (blogs, Facebook,
Twitter and email) and online advertising with industry partners. The contest received video entries
from over 95 countries around the world.

Alexander + Tom builds an award winning site for the National Park Services (NPS). The interactive
website for the Captain John Smith Trail, the nation’s first all-water historic trail, follows the
historic routes of Capt. John Smith as he charted the Chesapeake Bay from 1607-1609. The site’s main
goal is to increase awareness of and visitation to the 3,000 miles of historic trails and points of
interest.
The website includes cutting edge mapping technologies, interactive Flash maps, build-your-own
itinerary capability and live buoy feeds that provide real time bay conditions. "User generated
content," is also permitted allowing users to upload reviews and photos.

Alexander + Tom provides consulting, policy development and systems
solutions to help GSA comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requirements. Through a
multi-year agreement A+T will perform the remediation of thousands of document for the GSA.

Alexander + Tom develops advanced web marketing systems for Dept. of Tourism of Bermuda. The marketing
system is made up of many integrated components; including a tourism website, an automated email
generation system, an 800# call center, and a brochure-on-request program. All of these items are
connected to a central customer database that produces and manages all customer contacts on a
pre-planned and automated basis. The result - Bermuda is able to respond to consumer inquiries faster,
and in a more personalized manner than their competitors, and they are able to stay in touch with the
consumer with automated emails and e-newsletters based on the consumer’s specific vacation preferences.
